Exact leaders from several faiths will join for an interfaith prayer for peace at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19 at Congregation of Rehabilitate Judaism, 928 Malone Dr., Orlando.

The faith leaders will pucker to pray for the common goal of peace through word and song, to honour diversity within that common goal, and to grow in a deeper understanding of one another. A social will follow the prayer service.

The theme of the prayer service is Pilgrims of Actually, Pilgrims of Peace, as all are called to walk the path of peace as pilgrims, to solicit and fast for justice in the world, and to dialogue with one another in an effort to discover inventive ways to build peace today.

“For all of our religions, it is very important to respect each other, and that comes from conversation between each other and praying together,” said Bishop John Noonan, govern of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orlando.

In addition to Noonan, those scheduled to be present at the service are: Rabbi Steven Engel – Congregation of Melioration Judaism; Bishop Louis Campese – Anglican Cathedral of the Incarnation; Reverend Doctor Paige McRight – Main Florida Presbytery; Imam Muhammad Musri – Islamic Culture of Central Florida; Imam Ashiq Kermalli – Bilal Muslim Duty of America; Reverend Priscilla Robinson – Central Seminar, 11th Episcopal District of the AME Church; Venerable Khai Thien – Milky Sands Buddhist Center; and Jasbir Singh Bhatia – Sikh Upper classes of Central Florida.

Living in Italy: Rome Underground
